I'm liking Kate Atkinson's new book Transcription. She's definitely one of my favorite authors.

I was a little shocked when The Mitford Years series went from a marriage proposal at the end of one book to married life in the next. This novella comes a few books later to fill in the gap. It was lovely seeing the details of the wedding come together. I loved how Karon added the perspectives of other villagers. It was great to have an insight on other characters relationships.
Father Tim and Cynthia go to an island community where he fills in as an interim preacher after his retirement from Lord's Chapel. As much as I didn't enjoy leaving Mitford, Jan Karon still delivered a pleasant read about the provincial life of a Episcopalian priest in North Carolina with a little beachy action.
Fates and Furies is a sophisticated and deep read. Groff's writing is extravagant and her characters are deeply flawed in a way that made me want to know the ending.
