Colonel's Wife | Rosa Liksom
post image
Pickpick

A daring portrait of a woman‘s life within the thrall of fascism and Nazism. Liksom offers an unflinching, even terrifying, gaze at both her lifelong authoritarian tendencies and her vivid engagement with the natural world. This is an astonishing novel that resonates today through our current strained political environment.

old favorite

Nute Unfortunately I don‘t remember past reading experiences very well. Usually I‘ll recall that I read a particular book and whether or not I enjoyed it. But the story itself - the plot and the characters tend to escape my memory. I know that I read the tagged book...I know that it is the story of a journey, but that‘s it. I wonder if I labeled it a favorite as well? 4y

The Nine-Chambered Heart | Janice Pariat

Pariat‘s novel is about the fragile, fragmented nature of identity – how others see us only in bits and pieces, and how sometimes we tend to become what others perceive us to be

And Mandy was like: A famous person is just a normal person who thinks they exist.
