A wonderful collection of poems and illustrations by Shel Silverstein full of emotions. Very engaging for all readers, but discretion should be advised. After I read the first few chapters of White's Trumpet of the Swan, I was more than thrilled to find out he also wrote one Charlottes Web. Loved the movie as a child, so I was excited to read this book. Truly a fantastic read for the classroom (animal lovers of course) and touches your heart in a special way. This photo-biography is an excellent resource for kids without "dumbing" down the content. It is very well-written for both children and adults and also a winner of the Newberry award. It provides a look into his life in a personal and unique way through black and white photographs. Truly a great read I will use this in my class for sure. This book was sentimental, and I look forward to reading it for my teach live. I liked the fact that it is a true story (non-fiction), based on the actual events of Phillipe. Reading this, I thought of how frightening it would be if I walked between the twin towers.
