This is some of the most beautiful prose ever. Also, how good is the word SLUICE.
I've read some less than favorable reviews of this book and I agree it's not perfect. But I was charmed by it! I needed to laugh. I needed the witty inner monologue of Clay Jannon, our narrator. I needed a little bit of whimsy. For me, it was the right book exactly, at exactly the right time.
