I finished this book a bit ago, but looking back I'm just so happy with it. Enjoying this genre gets tough- stories get predictable and character personalities get old. But Ware centered her book around characters with a background in acting, which meant I trusted nobody and took everything in. ❤️

I started a new book last night! It's due back at the library in just a few short days but I'm confident that I'm going to breeze through this one!

k.reads.5 I really enjoyed this one! 6y

Overall it read very formulaic and forced. It was like it had to be written to fit a specific mold and for me, the mystery wasn't big enough for me. Even so, I found that I was able to get invested in the characters and the story and wanted to keep reading. Upon finishing the book, I felt like there may have been a little too much going on and it felt like I was missing out on something.

I expected to like this book, but I did not expect all the feels. First of all, it was so nice having a young adult novel written in the male voice. But on top of that, there are so many quotes you can pick out that don't just apply to people with mental illnesses; you could adapt it to any marginalised or oppressed group and it would ring true. I loved it, and I totally didn't cry.

As serious of a topic as this book addresses, I'm finding it rather humorous.

Started 11/22/63 (Audible) while making this, and it has occurred to me that maybe I should have made "do not let currently reading list exceed three books" a resolution this year ?

I haven't read the Outlander series (nor seen the TV show), and this is my first Gabaldon novel. I enjoyed the writing style and the Audible performance. There's nothing about this book that makes me jump up and down screaming about it, but I also have nothing bad to say!

Side note: having read Darker by E.L. James in the past month, it has bothered me to no end that the two main characters surnames are Grey and Trevelyan here.

It was a light and short book yet had all the elements for a good plot and engaging novel. I was surprised at how I ended up wanting the book to end given where it had started, which no doubt has improved my rating.

Boy Meets Boy | David Levithan

I liked it, but far from loved it. It was such an important story to exist in this world that I hesitate to say anything bad about it. Even so, there didn't seem to be much of a plot and IMHO there were too many characters and too few pages for their stories to get told effectively.

You know a book was chilling when you're watching a cheesy Christmas movie and you're yelling at the girl to make sure the door to an (almost) empty office building closes behind her.

Quick read and delivered as promised.

I decided to take the #25inFive challenge this weekend and that meant that I had to power through this book. Overall, I actually really enjoyed it. I could definitely see it as a book I come back to every so often as a refresher or for added motivation. It's a quick read with good, well thought out principles.

Broken Things | Lauren Oliver
Pickpick

I was so impressed with this book. I was so connected to the main characters, that I only casually tried to figure out the ending (and didn't). I also really liked that it was a YA take on the mystery/thriller genre because I feel like that's never done. There were, however, a lot of mature and difficult themes in the book which made it somewhat challenging.
