So many good books last week to choose from.

There‘s just something about a Jennifer Lynn Barnes book. They pull me in immediately. The Brothers Hawthorne & The Naturals series will be hard to beat on my favorites list but this was a solid read.

This was a solid read. I didn't connect to it as much as I did any of the books in The Naturals series but it was still a decent read with characters that were unsettling real in some instances. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

So many #lies!! in the titles of books I‘ve read or that are in my #TBR that I could have filled another grid with variations like “lied” or “lying.” Also, there are a few authors (looking at you J.T. Ellison & Diane Chamberlain) who seem fond of having lies in their titles. 😉

I‘m not sure what inspired me to put this book on hold initially, but I got sucked up into it immediately. It was light, funny & entertaining. I‘m a sucker for southern debutantes & loved Sawyer & her quest for the truth about her paternity. In fact there are so many secrets & lies in this community that it is perfect for the #TellTheTruthDay prompt. I put the sequel on hold—hard copy because no e-book for it. Why Library, why?!?😖

My July 4th couch dinner poke bowl with leftover basmati rice, & my usual Hawaiian Ahi Poke, California Roll Poke, Tofu Poke + Sonoma Brinery Bread & Butter Pickles from the grocery store deli because I *needed* them.

I don‘t remember when or what caused me to put an e-book hold on this book but it came in so I‘m checking it out to see if I want to try to work it into my July #TBR.

Still calm here fireworks-wise but it‘s still light out.🙉🙀

Couldn‘t put this down as I was going to bed last night. The short chapters made me think ‘I can definitely just squeeze in one more.‘ One hour later and I‘ve delved into the world of debutantes, family secrets and such mystery.

Debutants, secrets, lies, kidnapping. You name it. A fun fast pace mystery that was entertaining and had me laughing. 4🌟🌟🌟🌟

100 pages in and it‘s just not holding my attention, so I‘m gonna go ahead and DNF it.

Just started this and I love the cover honestly.

A working class girl meets her grandmother and gets swept into a world of debutantes, lies, and maybe murder.

There are times when I read books and fall head over heels in love with it, and there are times when I read a book and feel cheated. This is one of those times when I feel cheated. The characters were bland, and the mystery was dull. I don‘t like to completely drag books, but this one was not for me

Really enjoying this one so far! So much crazy fun.

In spite of of the neon pukepink just inside the cover, I enjoyed this book enough to give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐s. It's a mystery without all rhe blood. Rich debutantes aren't normally the topic of my choosing, this was a book club pick, but the characters were interesting and the story kept me hooked enough to overlook that. I wanted this puzzle solved.

P.S. Spring is almost here! I found these flowers in my yard and they made me smile. 😊

I finished listening to this one a few days ago - it was excellent!! Loved the rags to riches concept that wasn‘t cliche, modern day debutantes, and the narrator breathed life into the story with her wonderful southern accent. I have ordered a print copy for my permanent collection because it was so delightful 💕

Picked up the pace with this one once I really got into it. Hit the halfway mark today and hoping to finish up Saturday at the latest! I'm reading both AM and PM in bed because I'm so addicted! 🤩

Soaking my sore muscles in the tub and getting some reading done before the #BadonPaper Podcast gets to book review week this month!

A fun YA mystery about a teenage mechanic thrust into southern society and the wealthy family she has never known. Sawyer gets money for college and the opportunity to try to figure out who her father is all for simply agreeing to live either her maternal grandmother and participate in the debutante season. I loved bristly Sawyer from the get go and found this audio charming. Will definitely be picking up the next in the series.

This was such a fun read. Campbell, Sawyer, Lily and Sadie-Grace are getting ready for their debutante ball when one of them start blackmailing the others. With lots of twist and turns and a couple big secrets. I didn't want to put this book down. I am very excited to find out that this book is book one! I can't wait to see what the author writes next!

I wonder what kind of trouble they are going to get into, that Campbell is going to need an alibi!

This is the first chance that I have had to read since Friday night. I can't tell you how excited I am to read this book!

I read this months ago as an eARC (via #Netgalley) and now this pretty, kickass book is out in the world. I LOVE the cover.

I really enjoy Jennifer Lynn Barnes‘ writing and this is no exception. A quick, fun romp in the world of southern debutants from the perspective of a precocious teen mechanic. For me, it wasn‘t nearly as strong as my beloved Fixer series but still worth the read. I‘m looking forward to seeing where she takes us next!

I really enjoyed the Fixer (and the sequel was good too even if it made me sad), so I have hopes for this one.

Jennifer Lynn Barnes never disappoints. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and this world. I hope this is a series focusing on all the characters one by one.

This one sounds great: a teenage mechanic agrees to become a debutant in order to get her college paid for by the grandmother she just met. She uses the time to search for her father‘s identity and stumbles upon some rich-people secrets. Dun, dun, dun.
