The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton is a polarizing book for me. For a long time, I craved to read it and I finally got my hands on it. It has a really nice aesthetic in all the settings used. All the events and characters were really unique and nicely weaves together. Although, it was a bit... dark, at times. Some of the scenes were pretty gruesome- but they were just as vivid- so major props to Leslye Walton!

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon is a decent book- but only if you‘re into extra cheesy romance. I‘m a self-described romantic, so I gave it a shot. But as the book dwindled on, I began to dislike it. All of the characters were so simple and flat, every event seemed impossible, clichés were overused and the romance just really didn‘t seem tangible. At times, my stomach fluttered a little with Natasha‘s or Daniel‘s, but I can‘t recommend this.

More Than This | Patrick Ness
Pickpick

More Than This by Patrick Ness is easily of my favorite books of all time! With every page, you uncover- or begin, for that matter- a new mystery. You fall in love with (most) of the characters and are at least extremely passionate about the others. You really learn to adore all their flaws. This is a really thoughtful “what-if” book, and offers you a chance to really think about the events taking place. My only complaint is that it isn‘t endless.

I'll Give You the Sun | Jandy Nelson

"Maybe we're accumulating these new selves all the time. Hauling them in as we make choices, good and bad, as we screw up, step up, lose our minds, find our minds, fall apart, fall in love, as we grieve, grow, retreat from the world, dive into the world, as we make things, as we break things." -I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson, page 354

This is making it into my mental list of favorite books! It was so beautifully written. The characters were each so lovable and relatable in some way or other and the plot line wove such an intricate web. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone! :) #YA

Will Grayson, Will Grayson | John Green, David Levithan

The ending was definitely unexpected, but how can you not fall in love with both Will Grayson's?

Prisoner of Azkaban has got to be my favorite Harry Potter book. I love them all, truth be told. But I adore Sirius Black more than any other character I've ever read about. That being said, my heart it also broken. But no spoilers, in case you're one of the unfortunate souls who haven't experienced Harry yet. #HarryPotter #SiriusBlack #PrisonerOfAzkaban

Have to say, one of the realest books I've ever read. I can't say the writing was 100% perfect, but how can it be? The story was amazing, the characters and their relationships are really the best part. As a reader, I'm sure everyone fell in love with Dante's character. I know I did. I read the entirety of the book in a single day, along with a cry at the end. It really highlights important issues and brings such diversity to the literature world.
