The next book in the to-read pile. My pile includes a lot of firsts of series like this and The Fifth Season. Hope to come back and revisit sequels when I have the capacity.

This book is challenging, but by challenging I don't mean hard to read: the language is clear, the fantasy concepts compelling. But the social stratification is very raw and real, the social and personal issues dealt with in such a real way. Jemisin's writing is lovely and I was absorbed. I can't wait to pick up the next book.
