Another great book from Jung Chang. She has such a great way of bringing this true story to life.

A fascinating exploration of the body. Great read and some typical Bryson humour. Loved it.

This one gets mentioned on most of the 'top 10 best apocalyptic books' lists so I thought I'd give it a go. It's a long book and there's a hint of The Stand in there (good vs evil... supernatural forces etc). Overall I enjoyed it, but was a bit long and needed a good edit. The ending was a good example of what looks like an author that was fed up with it and didn't quite know how to end it, so took the 'and they lived happily ever after ' route.

Columbine | Dave Cullen

A really in depth look at what really happened at Columbine. It really opened my eyes and made me realise how much the press had built an image of the two killers that was completely incorrect. A very detailed, well written book that, if you want to know what happened, will give you the facts.

An interesting and amusing read. Sarah has done her homework on this book and raises some interesting questions/observations about the differences between the behaviour of men and women.

The Testaments | Margaret Atwood

Have to say it was a gripping read. Read it in one day. I was a little lost at first, as it's been a long while since I read Handmaids but, after a while, I got into it. Not the best book she has written, but certainly worth a read.

Wanderers: A Novel | Chuck Wendig

Wow, a long book, but a really good read. If you liked The Stand, you'll like this. Lots of current US political references in there too. I really enjoyed it. It was a bit slow at first and it wasn't that difficult to work out what was going on, but very enjoyable. Again, not a book that is a great literary work, but just a rip roaring story.

Awful. Completely unrealistic. Sorry, but if you've read anything about Aushwitz, or other extermination camps, you'd see this book is not at all plausible.

I like a good apocalyptic tale and I didn't realise when I started reading that this book was about vampires. I probably wouldn't have picked it up if I had known. I enjoyed the pace of this book, it was a page turner for sure. I found it a bit predicable in places and very light on character. It would be what I'd call a light read, something for when your brain hurts too much for anything challenging.
