Non-book note. My team, the L.A. Rams are going to Superbowl 53 to face the New England Patriots. Ironically, it's the same team, and same QB, the Rams faced back in Superbowl 36. Hopefully, my team will win this time.

LeeRHarry I‘m supporting the Rams because they put the Cowboys out 😏- if you win at least I can say my team was beaten by the Super Bowl winner 😊 7y

Offensive Football Strategies | American Football Coaches Association

So I don't know any of you, which means I'm more at liberty to express unpopular opinions. Before the kneeling or not kneeling was part of the narrative I'd decided that football was not for me. I understand its popularity but the reality of its brutality is just too much for me in a world that is already bruised and bleeding. I'm just trying to decide how much I should express that online and in person. I find it actually reprehensible, but...

Chelsey ... do I treat it as a mild difference in entertainment or a serious difference in worldview? I'm not looking for answers. Just a place to speak my mind. 8y
Soubhiville I can‘t stand football either. Actually I find sports in general boring and a waste of time. That said I also respect the players‘ rights to protest. 8y
Christy2318 I pretty much only watch football when my kid is playing or he wants to show me a video of some play. I stalled on letting him play for several years because I was concerned about injuries & long term effects. I still worry about it. But he loves sports & everyone has to play football in school athletics. So I wear my school shirt, cheer from the stands, & worry about all the kids playing. 8y
Chelsey @Soubhiville absolutely, this is more in reference to the physical damage the players sustain. There's a 100% injury rate among NFL players not to mention the long term damage. I just can't in good conscience be entertained by that. 8y

Alright people. I beat my wife at fantasy football and the stakes were that the winner gets to pick the next book we both read. I am taking suggestions.... NOW. @Mcip

Tcip Forgot to mention that it must be under 400 pages. 9y
BookishFeminist How about something scary or spooky since it's fall now? 😀 maybe this one? 9y
Tcip That one looks super promising. 9y
