Now we've come to expect that everybody we see wants to kill us. 😕😕

Going on a road trip for Labor Day so picked up the audio version of the book I'm currently reading. I also have plenty of books for when we actually get there. This is book 11 in the 44 Scotland Street series--I like this series a lot. It's about the only series that I currently keep up with. It's full of quirky characters and lots of insight into modern Scottish culture.

"I'm all right, Bertie. Don't worry about me."
"Sometimes I do, Daddy. Sometimes I worry."

There have been better instalments of this series. I thought this was kind of bland. Also, there is never enough Bertie.

Pretty good, not quite as strong as some of the others. Would have liked a Pat storyline and way more from Big Lou.

Love this one so far! I adore this series and am always jonesing for more.

There's just something so damn comforting about reading McCall Smith this time of year especially. That damn Bruce, though! Can't stand that guy.
