The Mystical Backpacker
The Mystical Backpacker: How to Discover Your Destiny in the Modern World | Hannah Papp
1 post | 1 read
Part memoir, part guidebook, The Mystical Backpacker invites you to explore your inner terrain and learn how to create your own unique version of a modern day vision quest or walk-about. Tired of living a life based on others expectations, Hannah Papp quit her job, bought a EuroRail ticket and a map, notified her landlady, and left town. Embarking on a journey across Europe with no plan and no direction, Hannah stumbled into becoming a modern-day Mystical Backpacker. Along the way her discoveries and the teachers she encountered allowed her to go on a deeper journey into the self and the spiritrevealing the real self she had long been missing. The Mystical Backpacker shows you how to identify the signs along the road that will lead to teachers and experiences that will reorient your own life map. Ultimately, The Mystical Backpacker offers a solution, a way to break free and find your inner selfs rhythms and needs, fulfilling your true destiny. Its time you hit the road and become a mystical backpacker.

Update for anyone who was following my quest for the perfect backpack (i.e. no one 😅):

I convinced myself that targeted marketing was the reason I so desperately desired a Fjallraven & that spending almost $80 on a bag was absurd.

So, I bought this one for much cheaper.

Li‘l backpack, get ready to be filled to the brim with books & stray bookmarks (anyone else ever end up with 5 million on the bottom of their bags?)! 🤗📚

Madamereginald Love that backpack! 7y
Stacy_31 So pretty and cheerful! 7y
LisaJo Beautiful backpack. And, yes, I end up with bookmarks in the bottom of everything. I went to one library today and came back with a dozen bookmarks, how does that happen? #BookmarkHorder 7y

monalyisha @LisaJo I think, as a serial dog-earer, I might be using bookmarks wrong. 😂 You‘d think that‘d be hard to do but I swear they‘re always falling out of my books! Like they know that I don‘t *really* want them there & that I‘d rather be folding down the pages. 7y
Soubhiville It‘s super cute! 7y
Clare-Dragonfly I put books in my bag spine side down so bookmarks don‘t fall out. But a book sleeve works even better! 7y
monalyisha @Clare-Dragonfly That‘s very organized & thoughtful of you! I‘m more of the “fling recklessly & with abandon” type of person. 😅 But a book sleeve might be a life-changer! I could try, anyway! 7y
Readergrrl This might be the cutest backpack I‘ve ever seen! 7y
celtichik It is adorable! 7y
AmyG It‘s way cuter than a Fjallraven. 7y
monalyisha @AmyG That‘s exactly the right thing to say! 😉🙌🏻 (Thanks.) 7y
Slajaunie Ii have never heard of a Fjallraven! 7y
Ddzmini Well I love that one 😍 7y
Clare-Dragonfly @monalyisha Use the money you saved on a backpack to get some book sleeves—really pretty ones so you‘ll want to use them! 😁 7y
shellleigh33 I love this backpack!! 7y
monalyisha @Clare-Dragonfly Any particular options you recommend? Also, I normally read hardcover library books. Will they fit? Do I need a different size for a paperback book? School me in your ways! 🤓 7y
Clare-Dragonfly Haha, I only have one, so I‘m hardly an expert! I‘ve seen them in various sizes, so you should have no problem getting one to fit big hardcovers. I‘d get a smaller one for paperbacks as smaller books tend to slide out of mine. @BooksTeasAndBookishThings may have more advice! 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @monalyisha @Clare-Dragonfly I have lots I would recommend ❤️ for smaller ones you can use either of these two shops: https://www.etsy.com/shop/bookbubbie https://www.etsy.com/shop/BookBifff 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings For any larger ones, I would use any of these that typically have a large option and you know they fit, especially any fandom ones because they make them with specific books in mind: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BookBestiesUK https://www.etsy.com/shop/StoryHero https://www.etsy.com/shop/HideYourSpoons 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Some others that have plenty of options for typically medium sleeves: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyBookZleeves https://www.etsy.com/shop/StoryTimeSleeve and these are always reversible: https://www.etsy.com/shop/storybookgirls 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings And my personal favourite shop still isn‘t back in business yet from their big move, but her shop is: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AuAlternateUniverse 7y
monalyisha Thanks @BooksTeasAndBookishThings 🤗! There are so many! Excuse me while I overthink this. 😅 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @monalyisha haha absolutely ❤️ if you look at the hashtags #BookSleeve and #BookSleeves you can see a lot of my posts about them all. Or #ProtectYourBooks I think is even more exclusively just mine so you can see them all. I have a very large collection lol 7y
monalyisha @Clare-Dragonfly @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I just bought two. Remind me to never go shopping with you guys. “Oh, you saved some money? I know how you can spend that!” 😅 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings But seriously, tag me when you get them in! I love them ❤️ 7y
monalyisha @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Will do! I got one from The Owl Bags (https://etsy.me/2JqgBwy) & one (because it was on sale) from One Story Designs (https://etsy.me/2pE6Sa8). 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings I haven‘t tried either of those yet. I am still trying to get some from other Littens‘ recommendations for me to try. But my faves will pop up with new designs and I just think, “It must be mine.” 7y
monalyisha @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I love that my original problem was “my bookmark won‘t stay in my library book.” $30 later... 😝 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Two of the makers I commented actually make pockets on the sleeves to keep your bookmarks when they are not in use lol so... you know... related-ish 7y
monalyisha @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I did see some with pockets! And I saw some that were reeeaaalllyyy pretty (but, like, $30 *each*). If I end up liking these, i might have to invest. 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Lol yes, but a lot of them have reps on IG with discount codes for 10-15% off and they have sales. The key is following them there to snag them when you can 😉 7y
monalyisha @BooksTeasAndBookishThings I have much to learn. 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings You will be very addicted once you get them. They are so cute and really do prevent your books from getting bent or pages torn. ❤️ 7y
