#litsyquestionnaire No one asked me but I have a lot of thoughts about this so I‘m doing it anyway. Hope it doesn‘t end up TOO long.
1️⃣ The focus on books and book talk rather than aesthetics or average ratings or how many people are reading a certain book.
2️⃣ Any litsy post that‘s hashtagged like an instagram post. Swaps (more on this later).
3️⃣ ▪️A method to sort/see only reviews OR blurbs OR quotes for a given book

⬇️MORE⬇️

twohectobooks 3️⃣ cont‘d ▪️a method to see my own posts about a book ▪️a fix for the fact the app crashes every time I create a new post (? I think I‘m the only one who has this issue) (edited) 4y
twohectobooks 4️⃣ so rarely! Between 1-5 times per week 4y
rubyslippersreads @twohectobooks My IPad and iPhone both crash when I create a new post. 😠 4y

twohectobooks 5️⃣ ▪️Readathons - yes! If I don‘t have time I don‘t participate but love to see others enjoying themselves together ▪️Readalongs - yes! Same as previous ▪️Questionnaires - yes! Same as previous ▪️Swaps - so tbh this is one thing about litsy that kinda bugs me but there are so many swaps. I can‘t afford to participate and feel really uncomfortable giving out contact info and since I only use the app on my phone it‘s so hard to tune them out. 4y
twohectobooks @rubyslippersreads ah, so I‘m not the only one! I‘ve never seen anyone mention this issue before! 4y
twohectobooks 6️⃣ Besides my other suggestions, it just frankly needs to be easier to find other users (eg see who else likes similar books to you, is in your area, etc), interact with them (eg PM, threaded comments), and organize books. Making it easier to find posts again later would help as well. ⬇️MORE⬇️ 4y
twohectobooks To be frank as much as I love litsy (and I honestly do despite all my complaints above) I‘m pretty sure it‘s a dead app and I‘ve just been waiting for the announcement that it‘s been abandoned. There are so few active users (I‘m curious about the number) and authors, publishers, etc do not seem to be adopting the app, which is what it probably needs to be worth the developers‘ investment. Until that day comes, I‘ll continue hanging out here 🙁💛📒 4y
Samplergal Great ideas! 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Have you considered following more users? It‘s definitely not a “dead app.” I think @Liberty has approx 24,000 followers. 4y
ljuliel Thanks for your participation, and of course, you are welcome to do it. I originally posted this to anyone wanting to answer, so it‘s for the group. You brought up some valid points. I agree about the swaps. I‘ve done a couple in the past but won‘t do another. There are lots of kinks that need worked out in there. As for your post making the app crash, I‘m not sure what would cause that. I‘m not very tecchy , so I can‘t figure out those things. 4y
ljuliel And last but not least, I don‘t think Litsy is dead just yet. If we all post and respond to other‘s posts, we can keep it going and more active again. 🌟I don‘t think you have to follow thousands of people to keep it active. You couldn‘t keep up and post to that many 🌟. The key is to participate, reply to others, etc. you can meet new people that way, and slowly add friends as you find those with similar book tastes and personalities. 4y
twohectobooks @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I wonder how many of those 24000 are active users though? I follow or am followed by a lot of people who either never posted at all or haven‘t posted in multiple years. I‘m happy with the activity level on my feed, but for the app to feel vibrant and active it needs more users overall. 4y
twohectobooks @ljuliel I‘m glad others are more optimistic than I am! The way you describe is definitely how I use the app and find people to follow. I think the things that keep the user base small are what make this such a pleasant app to use—it‘s just too inconvenient to get on here and be a jerk lol. 4y
twohectobooks @ljuliel also thanks for starting this conversation! I actually just joined the Onward Litsy group on Facebook to see if a similar conversation was going on there. 4y
TheAromaofBooks I liked your thoughts on making it easier to find people to follow who have similar book-reading interests - when I first joined in May of this year, it was really difficult to decide who to follow or not. I love reading, but it would have been easier if there was any type of profile even “my top three genres I love to read“ or something! 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @twohectobooks I‘m not sure, I‘m very active with many members on Litsy. I‘m not sure what all the fuss is about 🤷🏼‍♀️ I cohost buddy reads, photo challenges, a huge pen pal group with over 130 members with @TheBookHippie and we are not seeing what has been mentioned. Look at @MrBook celebrating his 1000000 milestone!!! (Congratulations!) I don‘t understand the negativity... (edited) 4y
