Days of Awe | 
I think I found this at Dollar Tree. The Story of Isabel and her life after her best friend, Josie unexpectedly dies in a car crash. I really enjoyed it. Worth all of $1. 🤣

so-soFox is a really good writer, and there were many wonderful passages to linger over - she has a gift for capturing emotion. That being said, I did find the the book a bit on the long-ish side and felt that her relationship with her mother and the mother's back story was just extra (it was interesting, but for me just added to the bulk of the book). And if you are waiting for a big finish, the book just kind of fizzles out.
Finished my 1st hour and my 1st book of #24in48 #readathon so I will get a little 😴.

I didn't really get the point of this book. It's about a woman who gets divorced and loses her best friend in a car accident in the same year. The main character Isabel is 43 years old and terribly immature. She has a strange belief that her grief is the most important, even more that the grief of her friend's husband. The timeline of the story jumps back and forth and sometimes you don't know whether an event is before or after the death.
This part resonated with me. A story about divorce, yes, but also about the messy parts of life and friendship and parenting.
A little rose and some fiction to give me goosebumps before I finish Christmas shopping.

This book gives me more goosebumps than this 10 degree Chicago air does.
The more I read the more bitter I am that I did not write this brilliant and powerful and real book myself. And my bitterness stems from pure joy, really, because this book is probably one of the most well written books I've picked up in a long time.

pickThe first few pages were a little tough to get through, but before I knew it I was 100 pages in and couldn't put this book down. This book is about relationships. Friendships, marriages and family. It is about loss in all forms and the grieving and healing process. The only thing is that's I wished it had ended a little bit differently, but all in all this books is great for a rainy weekend or to take on vacation.
