Welcome to Litsy!

Each ballad in this book is preceded by a retelling of it in an illustrated form. The illustrations are wonderfully executed by Charles Vess, and the stories are written in collaboration with writers such as Neil Gaiman, Sharyn McCrumb, Jane Yolen, etc.

I think it's a great way to discover or rediscover the ballads. People who love music will be glad to find a quite detailed discography at the end of this book.

This beautiful fountain by Charles Vess is in my town. It is of Titania from Shakespeare‘s Midsummer Night‘s Dream. I promised @elkeo long ago that I would get a picture of it. Forgive me for taking such a long time. I will post the plaque as well.
