Tonight's non reading activity with @timg138! I grew up going to the only racetrack on the island when I was a kid & our family friend drove in the demolition derby! We're urban rednecks now... no offense!! 😘🤗

Tonight's non reading activity for Daisies! When your troop leader actually drives a monster truck, you know you're going to get some fun patches! Back to Final Report tonight, which is going a lot better than I expected!!!
Cute and a tiny bit creepy. A great choice for Halloween for younger kids. I loved the “monster” trucks and the VW bus who joins in the race. Great illustrations. My son commented, “It looks like they really are going fast!”
This fiction book is a cute picture book that would be perfect to read around Halloween because it turns the trucks into the monsters that are well known. They race and the surprise at the end is awesome. I would use storytelling for this book because it is cute and not that long of a story. I would use the UDL 8.3 foster collaboration and community. The ESOL strategy I would use is 4 link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge.
Just this past weekend, I gave this spooky, fun book to my little cousin. His response after hearing the title: "I know why you thought I'd like this: Monsters! ...And trucks!"
(And sure enough, both he and his older brother listened intently to me reading it aloud, and wanted to look at it more when we were done!)
