Alice the Fairy
Alice the Fairy | David Shannon
4 posts | 9 read
Caldecott Honor artist and bestselling author David Shannon's warm and funny new picture book introduces Alice, a mischievous little girl with a "No, David" nose for trouble and a magic wand. Alice has a nose for trouble, but luckily she's a fairy--a Temporary Fairy. She has a magic wand, fairy wings, and a blanket, all of which she uses to disappear, to fly, to transform her dad into a horse, and to turn his cookies into her own! There are still a few things Alice needs to learn to become a Permanent Fairy, like how to float her dog on the ceiling and make her clothes put themselves away, but she's working on it--sort of. Here's an endearing, funny story about a girl and her magical imagination, sure to delight every fairy in training!

I‘m sure you all know this author… not only does David Shannon focus on “David”, here is a little girl he creates named “Alice”. It is a very cute F story for kids who use their imagination! Alice thinks that she is a fairy and shows readers that anything is possible if you just believe! This book would be great for a RA! https://www.teachingbooks.net/tb.cgi?tid=9959 #UCFLAE3414SP20

DrSpalding Teaching books has helpful resources. Yes this would be a good read aloud but I have also seen it as an excellent storytelling. 4y

David Shannon is such a simple children‘s author, and I love it! My students love reading No David, and whenever i introduce Alice the Fairy, they want to read it again... and again.

Alice is a temporary fairy with a bit of magic in her. Very fun pictures and perfect for PreK through first grade!

madamereadsalot1 We adore this book! I bought it for my own Alice when she was a little bitty and we read it so much the pages are taped up and the cover is in tatters. We still read it, just very gently. 5y

Day 4 #boardbookbonanza is a book that was read over and over and over, to the point that it practically disintegrated and we no longer have it. It was definitely a family favorite and managed to survive many years and many kids, before falling fully apart.
