Y'all. I have another foster. Her name is Goblin. She has the funniest little croak instead of a meow. She's a bundle of energy and sass and holds her own with the bigger boys. She was found under the hood of a car after said car had driven 30+ miles on Houston freeways. And amazingly enough, she doesn't have a single scratch, burn, or bump anywhere. Shes got super powers or something!

And another #AuthorAMonth reread done! This is another one of my favorites by him. It's weird that I can forget how much I love this book. I used to read this one every year. And somewhere along the way I switched back to American Gods being my most oft reread. Anyway, this book is great fun and you should read it.

Thanks for the #litsylearn tag @Alora ! 😊

1. -I went to a big punk show in an old condemned apartment complex that was demolished the next week. -I met Wil Wheaton at a mall in the 80's. -I have an autographed picture of The Sandlot cast because I wrote to their fan club.

2. Catcher in the Rye

3. Yes!

4. Too cold

DaveGreen7777 Hmmm... I‘m going to guess meeting Wil Wheaton in the 80s is the lie? 🤔 5d
Karisa I vote Sandlot = lie *I'm hoping the first one isn't because it's really cool.😂 5d

Alora Ohhh how neat!!! 😱 5d
madamereadsalot1 @Karisa ding! You got it! It was actually just an autographed photo of Mike Vitar(Ben) I had a huge crush on him back then so I wrote to his fan club! I also no longer have it. Hung on my wall when I was 11. Lost it in a move. So it's a lie around a little truth. 😂 And the concert was awesome! 5d
Megabooks So jealous that you‘ve met Wil! He was my 80s crush and seems to have turned into a cool adult. 5d
madamereadsalot1 @Megabooks I know, he's so great! I wish I had been older when I met him. I was just a kid, 8 or 9. It was Star Trek NG days for him. 5d

1. I love games! My favorites would be Scattergories, Scrabble, and Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit. And if cards count, than Uno, Magic the Gathering, and Munchkin too!
2. South Korea and Romania
3. I finished my goal of 60 and surpassed it by 11 so far.
4. One of my favorites now, Stephen King, more than a dozen years ago.
5. What is the dumbest book quote you've ever read? From what book?
#friyayintro @howjessreads

madamereadsalot1 To answer my own question, mine would be from the tagged shit show. The whole thing was horribly written and absolutely ludicrous. It's been years and I still remember: "Just who was the dark man? That‘s what she‘d called him when she was a kid. He‘d seemed so dark." And it went on about how dark he was ... She didn't even try a thesaurus ... 2w
vivastory I'm also a fairly recent King convert. I loved all of the adaptations growing up but didn't actually read my first one until a couple of years ago. I've now read 17. I think it's safe to say I'm a fan! 2w
vivastory As far as #5, I don't remember any specific quotes but I hated Paul Cleave's The Cleaner. It was just trolling, it was basically if Milo Yiannopoulos wrote Dexter. 2w

Susanita Anytime a character “heard someone screaming, realized it was me” 2w
DaveGreen7777 5. Anytime someone “lets out a breath they didn‘t realize they were holding”! 😂 It‘s been used so many times and it doesn‘t make any sense... not noticing you‘re holding your breath? That‘s not how breathing works! 2w
madamereadsalot1 @vivastory same! I loved Clive Barker, he was my horror go to as a teen, and I just didn't like that King wasn't Barker. 😆 Then as an adult, I tried some of his stuff and would get frustrated by the pages of description of inconsequentials, I just couldn't hang. But one day I picked up the first Dark Towers, and while I didn't care for it, I did LOVE the weirdness. So I started trying others and slowly I found his works I loved and here we are! 2w
madamereadsalot1 @vivastory I've never heard of Paul Cleave I don't think. But that description sounds fracking dreadful! 2w

3rd #AuthorAMonth book finished! I have read the first half of this book twice, & now 3 times. Yet I've never managed to finish it. This time though, I started it & went all the way to the end! I'm really glad I did too b/c while some of those stories I had read independent of this collection, others I hadn't, like Black Dog. I loved it, no surprise. And b/c I adore Shadow Moon, it inspired me to reread American Gods again!

@Soubhiville

vivastory I think I need this in my life 2w
madamereadsalot1 @vivastory it's so good! Some of the stories I'm attached to b/c I got to hear him read various ones from this book live. Once in Austin, and again on Houston. But despite that, it's a good, varied collection. You should definitely add it to your TBR, if for no other reason than the Dr. Who story and the American Gods one! 2w

But also Snow, Glass, Apple.🤔 Oh and Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire, and of course Black Dog too. It's really hard to pick just 3. 😅 2w
vivastory It really is 😄 2w
madamereadsalot1 @vivastory what would be yours? 2w
vivastory How the Marquis Got His Coat Back, Study in Emerald, Fifteen Painted Cards from Vampire Tarot (so brilliant!) I noticed that it looks like there are not just one, but two, Gaiman story collections being published next year! 2w

Started my #authoramonth this evening and am a little over halfway through my reread of Ocean. Lining up my next, which will be Odd and the Frost Giants. I've read all the Gaiman books I own already, but I always reread 1 or 2 of his every year anyhow. I hope A View from the Cheap Seats will become available at the library this month. It's been on my TBR forever and I had intended to mark it off this year anyway.

@Soubhiville

jb72 I liked Ocean and Odd and Graveyard. I read them all this year and thoroughly enjoyed them. 3w
madamereadsalot1 @jb72 I'm glad you liked them! He's my favorite, so I'm totally biased and think he probably even poops gold! 😂 What's your favorite Gaiman experience? Mine is American Gods, followed by Anansi Boys and Neverwhere. 3w
jb72 @madamereadsalot1 I‘ve only read about 18 of his stories (mostly short). Art Matters was very good and I loved Coraline. Neverwhere was the first Gaiman book I read a few years ago. A Study in Emerald was pretty good too. 3w

Scochrane26 I still have several of his to read, but I‘m slowly making progress. Think my fave at this point is also American Gods. 3w
madamereadsalot1 @Scochrane26 he has a lot to work through between comics, novels, kids books, short stories, and a couple of non-fic. I'm not done with all of his either! Everytime I think I'm nearly caught up, I find out about something else! 3w
madamereadsalot1 @jb72 his short story collections are so good. Really show his versatility in storytelling! I adore his Fragile Things collection. And Coraline, in all its versions, is a definite favorite in this household! If you haven't gotten to The Graveyard Book, I would use this month as an excuse! I'm sure you'd love it! 3w
erzascarletbookgasm My favourite is The Graveyard Book. I still need to read Anansi Boys. 3w
