David Gets in Trouble
David Gets in Trouble | David Shannon
13 posts | 13 read | 1 to read
"When David gets in trouble, he always says . . . 'NO! It's not my fault! I didn't mean to! It was an accident!'" Whatever the situation, David's got a good excuse. And no matter what he's done "wrong," it's never really his fault. Soon, though, David realizes that making excuses makes him feel bad, and saying he's sorry makes him feel better. Once again, David Shannon entertains us with young David's mischievous antics and a lighthearted story that's sure to leave kids (and parents) laughing.

Keishla.O I love all the David books! They were all the rave when I was in elementary school. This one is especially important because students do need to know when to say sorry. Thanks for reminding me of this great book! 5y
DrSpalding This is not fantasy. Using your genre flip guide, what genre do you believe it to be? David in the story is actually David the author. Reading is fundamental is a high-quality resource. Expand on this a bit and connect your universal design and English learner strategy to the resource. 5y
Brennap Yes! I read this when I was younger and loved this book. It is a great story to read to children so they can connect to and understand different themes within it! 5y

KarliCrean I remember that i used to LOVE to read David Shannon books as a little kid. One of my favorites is A Bad Case Of Stripes, if you haven‘t read that one yet i recommend (: 5y

DrSpalding See my last comment for this book. Be sure to study your genres and better understand what makes realistic fiction versus fantasy. 5y

The pictures add depth to the story and are entertaining. The main character may be relatable to children who seem to always get in trouble. It also shows that you‘re still loved when you mess up, which is important to express to children.
