Awesome! Blake Harris took this book to the Next Level. Incredibly detailed and you feel like you are living through the eyes of the employees at Sega and Nintendo. If you are a gamer, you will especially love this book but it‘s a read for anyone. I can‘t imagine the amount of research done for this. Can‘t wait for the documentary to come out! Well done and highly recommend.

So I was inspired by Console Wars to turn on some quality Saturday morning television for the baby girl.

This book covers the 'war' between Nintendo and Sega in the early days of video games. It takes the underdogs view and focus primarily on Sega and the head of Sega of America - which is an approach I really like. It gives the story a dramatic twist. It's a very good and interesting story if you are into pop culture, video games or technology. The book as a little on the long side though. Overall a great read!

This gives a fairly comprehensive look at how Sega and Nintendo originated and how Nintendo got to where it is today. It also touches on the history of some other well known video gaming companies like Electronic Arts and Namco. I love that the human element is included and we get to learn more about the people who drove video game innovation, even while so many were saying that it was bound to die. I very much enjoyed the sheer volume of info.

Warming up for the launch of the New NINTENDO SWITCH with Console Wars. I am listening to the audiobook edition on Mofibo. So far: Very good listen and fascination story which covers the console 'war' between Sega and Nintendo back in the day.

This was a bit of a slow read for me, but it was super informative. If you love video games and want to know more about the history behind the consoles and the boom of video games, this book is for you. Definitely has a bit of an authorial bias, but the way the facts are written as like a narrative is really nice and makes you connect to these real movers and shakers of the video game world. Overall, I definitely recommend.

Just downloaded this one! I'm a lover of all things video games, so I knew I had to get my hands on this one. I'm ready to learn a whole lot more about the industry in general, and the history behind my fave consoles. And right now, it's only 1.99 on Kindle! Quite the deal. 😻

I'm a very casual gamer, but this sounds fascinating.

Somewhere between a so-so and a pan.

Eh, maybe this is because I'm not a gamer (I was a Myst player and never quite got the allure of Mario or Sonic; also my hand-eye coordination for console/arcade games is terrible) but I found this book to be hella boring. There's a lot of information packed in but it felt repetitive and lifeless.

For someone who isn't really a gamer, the story of the early battle between Sega, Nintendo and Sony is interesting pop culture history. Just getting to the beginnings of PlayStation, I'm sure the real drama will start to pick up.

Picked up a few books with my birthday cash, seemed appropriate given my arts background and my current IT & mathematics studies. Now I just need to find the time to read them...
