6 posts | 7 read | 1 to read
Johan is a cold and calculating killer with a mysterious past, and brilliant Dr. Kenzo Tenma is the only one who can stop him! Conspiracy and serial murder open the door to a compelling, intricately woven plot in this masterwork of suspense. Dr.Tenma has fallen into a trap set by Johan and is now wanted by the police as a serial killer. While narrowly evading the police dragnet, Tenma pursues Johan in an attempt to prove his own innocence and prevent another murder, edging closer to the Monster by tracing his secret past. As the only person who knows what Johan is, Tenma searches for Nina, who has been captured by neo-Nazis. His investigation leads him to uncover a horrific fact: the ultra-rightists are conspiring to set Johan up as a second Adolf Hitler!

An excellent continuation to this thriller manga about a surgeon who saves a boy, who maybe he shouldn‘t have. I don‘t want to say much more because spoilers, but if you like a historical fiction thriller with many twists and turns, I definitely recommend. I look forward to continuing the series. 4.5⭐️

Finished one from the TBR. Yay me!

I am really enjoying this series about the hunt for a serial killer in the newly reunified Germany.

And just like that, my 3rd book for #24in48 is done! I decided to fit in some manga this time, so my reading wouldn't feel as monotonous. I read the first volume in this series at the end of last year and decided to give it one more volume to see if I'd continue it. This second volume was more engaging than first, but I'm still more frustrated than intrigued with the villainization of Dr. Tenma by the police and the lack of info on Johan.

I've only been into manga for a short time, but Dr. Tenma from Monster is easily my favorite character of the genre so far.

Time for volume 3 of this amazing manga series (though the single volume additions don't seem to be on Litsy, only the combined editions with two volumes at a time.)
