Well, here it is, Labor Day. I completed 13 of my #14Books14Weeks2021 stack, having skipped The Children of the New Forest. I‘ll get to it, eventually, I do want to read it, but it just keeps getting bumped. I read tons of other books this summer, though! Thanks for hosting @TheHeartlandBookFairy - always a good challenge.

pickI read this book for the first time. But surprisingly the story felt familiar to me. As I progress I remembered reading the translated version of this book as a kid. I read it in my mother tongue Kannada language ( one of the Indian languages ) It used to be my father‘s text book during his school days 😛 oh I felt thrilled ! I am happy to read the same book now. YA books have come a long way since this book was written!

I‘m enjoying when the narrator gives us background info, and then says, ‘ Now let‘s get back to the story‘!
I have always liked it when narrators talk to me!
