It seems that this book was published when early signs of Western misinterpretation and commercialism were beginning to affect the tradition. I would be interested in reading a follow up from the author.
The reasons I got this book (history, symbolism, modern influences, etc.) were unfortunately crammed into one chapter in the back. It was more of a description of the practices of Oaxaca. Still very interesting. If only the pictures were in color
