Wuthering Heights: The Wild and Wanton Edition
Wuthering Heights: The Wild and Wanton Edition | Emily Bront, Annabella Bloom

"I cannot live with my life! I cannot life without my soul! I cannot live without my . . . lover!" Catherine and Heathcliff may have been doomed sweethearts from the start, but that's no reason to keep them from consummating their desperate desire for one another. In this smoldering, expanded edition of the brooding masterpiece, the star-crossed lovers seal their fiery fate with lovemaking as wild as the moors. From the first time the rough-and-tumble Heathcliff takes the haughty young Catherine in his arms, unleashing a sexual obsession that will never die, to their final lingering embrace beyond the grave, this is the self-same story of ruinous love that has always haunted you--once again, with sex scenes!

Look at this quote from the casting director of the new “Wuthering Heights” movie. “Just a book,” indeed. 😠

(Tagged book is what I actually expect this film to be based on. 🤣)

dabbe Well, that makes me not want to see it at all! Thanks for the heads up! 💛💜🧡 22h
RowReads1 Yeah. No. I already don‘t like it. I‘m not an English Lit major. 22h
Andrea313 The more I read about this movie, the higher my level of disbelief. I'm not even sure I can stomach a hate-watch at this point! 21h

ferskner Don't hate me, but I'm actually okay with changes to books (I think it's a totally different artistic interpretation) but way to alienate the core audience, Guardian! 🙄 19h
rubyslippersreads @ferskner I‘m okay with it too; The Wizard of Oz movie and book are quite different (I actually love the film more). What I objected to here was what sounded like disrespect of books and authors. 19h
ferskner @rubyslippersreads totally! It's so dismissive, like the same people who say "there are still libraries?" 19h
Bette I just read an article with comments like ‘50 shades of Brontë.‘ I will probably see it but it makes me a little sad since I love Brontë‘s work as it is. 16h

#aclassicyouhaventread There are still a lot of classic novels that I haven't read yet. I came across this book at my local Ollie's store for only $1.99 so I grabbed it. I plan on adding it to my TBR books for next year.
