I got a little lost in the science in the beginning but this turned out to be quite a lovely tale of how Albie uses science to come to terms with the loss of his mother to cancer.
After the loss of his mother to cancer, Albie Bright discovers the Quantum Banana Theory, and begins jumping into parallel universes looking for the one person he desperately wants to be with. Along the way, he encounters other versions of his friends and family, and even of himself, he has adventures, and learns a few things about family, and love, and loss.

This was a sweet middle grade science fiction in which Albie loses his mom and then decides he is going to find her in a parallel universe. He creates the Quantum Banana Theory and learns more about family and healing than he expected.
So this looks interesting. The description made me think of A Wrinkle in Time, and that can't be bad.
