I updated my phone's OS and now I can't post on Litsy anymore 😣.
Anyway, I started reading another book 😊
This is, in my opinion, Erich Segal's best novel—even better than Love Story, which is the book most people know him by.
Anyway, it's been years since I last read this book (I read it quite a few times when I was younger and wanted to be a medical doctor), but I figured a book about medical school must have mentioned a #cadaver in it somewhere. 😁

October is Bat Appreciation Month.
Incidentally, these precious animals are today's #WickedWhispers prompt. #bat
“There were corpses every night at the height of the killings. Seven, twelve, twenty-six, the brutality reduced to a paragraph, sometimes only a sentence each. The language failed as the body count rose.”
So #gruesome, it's hard to believe it's non-fiction.
#WickedWhispers
I read this book in high school for two reasons: I had a goal to read all the Newbery books and I loved Little Women.

Kids aren't born bad and when they bully there's always a story behind it. This powerful picture book looks into the issue of bullying and shows how kindness can change someone's life forever. Based on a true story. An essential read for all kids (and adults).

Read it after I saw the movie (Dangerous Minds). The book was definitely better.

The aunt bought this book when the kids were younger and learning to ride a bike, and they had quite a laugh reading it. The Berenstain Bears were always a hit when they were “littler“ 😊 🚴

I read this when it first came out, but I haven't seen the movie. Is it any better than the book?

Set during Marcos' Martial Law Dictatorship, this book shows a teenager‘s POV of a tumultuous era in Philippine history. While the diary is fictional, the book also includes a non-fiction section that details the events that transpired, which led to the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution. A good read for young Filipinos.

I couldn‘t decide which book to use for today‘s #SchoolSpirit prompt #paint, so I just used both.
Peter H. Reynolds is one of the best children‘s book writers of all time, IMO.

I'm listening to the audiobook and hoping to finish it before the week ends.
I (and most of my friends at that time) read most of Christopher Pike's books in my early teens. He was often compared to R.L. Stine because they wrote in a similar genre, but we liked his books more because, to our young teenage minds, they were more “mature.“ I don't remember any of his books' plots now, but this one came to mind when I saw today's prompt.

I picked this book up from the library last week. Today, I have a doctor‘s appointment, so I brought it along to read while I wait.
I remember it was on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts that Percy Jackson's adventure began. After that trip, weird things started to happen and he would soon find out he was the descendant of a Greek god.

Also published as “The Girl on the 88 Bus“
A heartbroken girl meets an elderly widower on a bus. She finds out this man has been riding the bus everyday, in search of a lost love, and ends up helping him with his quest.

If I had gone to a boarding school, I would have wanted it to be Hogwarts. Or Beauxbatons, like Fleur Delacour.
Borrowed the book from my daughter for the photo 😊

A lot of research is done in libraries in this book, and the others in the series.

The first annoying thing is when I ask Dad what he thinks happened to Mom, he always says, “What's most important is for you to understand that it's not your fault.”

My introduction to the classics was through the Apple Classics. I was always on the lookout for these yellow volumes from the school library, and even spent all my allowance on getting my own copies. Little Women was my favorite, and I read it over and over again.

I had an Erich Segal “phase” sometime in college (which started by reading Love Story, of course), and think this was one of the novels I read at that time. And it‘s about a bunch of college students as well, so it fits the prompt perfectly.

Carl Sagan was a professor, and in the first few chapters of this book, he told stories about the professors who influenced and supported him to be the scientist he was.

I borrowed this book for my middle-schooler, but I think I‘m enjoying it more than she is. I‘m only halfway through but I already say it‘s a « Pick »
I‘m back! I lost my login and somehow created a new account. Then, today, I was magically able to recover this account, and here I am ?.
This was the last book I posted in my now deleted 2nd account. J'ai lu ce livre parce que j'apprends le français. It‘s a really nice book about an introverted young boy who enjoys solitude inside the foliage of a great big tree. The drawings are really nice and perfectly compliment the story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
Reading this next because I hope to read more non-fiction for the upcoming year.

Tagged 📖 was one of my favorites, growing up. I don't like the tagged character, Meg March, though. But does anyone? 😊

I wish I can get 4 hours free today so I can finish this book. Alas, there's just too many things to do ☹
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
On to our 2nd bedtime read. My daughter and I both loved this short and sweet book that inspires its readers to not be stingy with love because there's more than enough to go around for everyone. ❤😊❤😊
⭐⭐
The 1st of 2 books my daughter asked me to read to her tonight. We got it from the publisher's book sale. It was just a so-so for me, though. I know some kids really do have over active imaginations, but it seems as if this book encourages kids to tell lies.
Reading something other than 'chick lit' today because I'm trying to read more books by Filipino authors. I started this a couple of months ago but although it's a short novel, it's quite difficult to read since certain sections give vivid narrations of the atrocities that went on during the Philippines' martial law era several decades back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just 4/5⭐ because although I did like this book, it didn't quite draw me in the way The Fault in Our Stars did.
Today's reading spot.
I'm halfway through the book and finding it hard to put down. I'd rather read than swim anyway. 😊

Started reading a new book last night. I hope to finish this one before the week ends 😊
New here, and I found this app through Amy Byler 😊
