I loved The Blackhouse trilogy, so this was shockingly a disappointment. IMO Enzo is a sub par John Rebus… so read Ian Rankin instead.

Some thoughts:

1) Enzo is kind of… skeezy
2) wow, a character with the worst daddy issues I‘ve ever seen…
3) I think everyone was sleeping with everyone?? Or trying… see 1 … and 2.
4) oh yeah… murders happened, which obviously got overshadowed by the annoying stuff above.

The 2nd in the #EnzoFiles series is set in the Gaillac wine region of France.Gill Petty, wine critic extraordinaire, is discovered dressed in the crimson robe & hood of a secret wine brotherhood. His decayed body is displayed like a scarecrow.Enzo,Scottish exile & forensic expert,is hired by Petty‘s daughter to investigate within the extensive wineries of the region.Of course drinking Bordeaux is essential to the understanding of the novel. 😉🍷

Just started slowly on the treadmill this week but over did it some so my foot(the one I had a hairline fracture, followed by bone marrow edema) so I am taking it easy today.

If you want to learn so much about winemaking, you will find that in the pages of this murder mystery. Enzo is out to solve the mystery of a wine critics death when his wine infused body is found hanging in a vineyard after being missing for 4 years. And someone is also trying to kill him. Then another body turns up!
This series gets better and better!⬇️

This is 2nd book in The Enzo Files which takes place in France. Peter May is one of my favorite authors. Love all his books!
