The #ssrf South Sound Reading Foundation just donated 400 books to the PTA at my school. The boxes were brought to my library and I had to open them all and look through before I went home for spring break. If you don't already know who penned this gem, Google his name.
The King Who Rained by Fred Gwynne is a great RD MF book for any classroom library. The King Who Rained is about a little girl who confused different meanings of words that sound alike, a little girl imagines such unusual sights as “a King Who Rained” and “the foot prince in the snow.” Her mother and father use clear homophones, but the young girl has no clue of such. I know I am hard to buy books so my husband decided to go a different route-he remembered a conversation we had months ago about one of my favorite books as a kid and found it for me. I have many fond memories of checking this book out of the library over and over. I had fun reading it again!!
