The Viscount's Christmas Temptation
The Viscount's Christmas Temptation | Erica Ridley
5 posts | 10 read | 3 to read
Enjoy the first laugh-out-loud story in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Erica Ridley’s fan-favorite Dukes of War regency romance series! Certain individuals might consider Lady Amelia Pembroke a managing sort of female, but truly, most people would be lost without her help. Why, the latest on-dit is that rakish Viscount Sheffield is canceling the fête of the year because he hasn't time for silly soirees. He doesn't need time—he needs her! When a flash of lightning destroys the venue for his family's annual Christmas ball, Lord Benedict Sheffield intends to enjoy a relaxing holiday for once. But after twelve days of beguiling Lady Amelia's guerrilla tactics, he's up to his cravat with tinsel . . . and tumbling head over heels in love.

A cute free Kindle Christmas 🎄 #romantsy I‘m definitely in the historical romance binge zone with this short novella

This book held a lot of promise, but everything felt rushed: the situation the characters were in and their growing attraction. This book could have delved so much deeper into the characters and their emotions. It all ended up feeling skin deep. I feel let down in a sense and so I'm giving this one a pan.

Okay. If I hadn't thought the heroine Sherlock-esque before, I definitely do now. I just don't really understand why a women has to reduce her mind palace to a pantry but the explanation is following and makes sense. Still, she should have a palace, she's the sister of a duke.
Note that the (probable) hero's name is Benedict. I don't think it's a coincidence.

It might be the day after Christmas, but I spent Christmas Eve in a car with the stomach flu, and Christmas Day recovering while also trying to visit with family, so I'm allowing it. Besides, this was on my list for this month, and unlike the others I didn't get to, I don't see myself picking this one up in January. Christmas romance novella, here I come!

Eyelit Hope you're on the road to recovery! Being sick during the holidays is crappy. 8y
leslieisreading @Eyelit thank you! I'm much better now, though my appetite hasn't really come back yet. Mostly feeling pretty good though! 8y
