#SelfImprovementSept - Friends: This is a favorite book from my childhood. Rosa Guy was a favorite author because she put stories in front of me that had a sense of familiarity. She wrote about African-American children in African-American neighborhoods and communities. She filled them with Afrocentric culture. Most importantly and significant she put beautiful brown-skinned faces in all their lovely hues on the front cover!👇🏽
I couldn‘t find my copy. I‘ve looked everywhere. I know that I would not get rid of it, but it‘s been a long time. I recreated a digital cover of the 1974 edition for this Litsy post. Highly recommended!
