'Once there was a widow with three sons, and their names were Black, Brown and Blue. Black was the eldest; moody and aggressive. Brown was the middle child, timid and dull. But Blue was his mother's favourite. And he was a murderer.' Blueeyedboyis the brilliant new novel from Joanne Harris: a dark and intricately plotted tale of a poisonously dysfunctional family, a blind child prodigy, and a serial murderer who is not who he seems. Told through posts on a webjournal calledbadguysrock, this is a thriller that makes creative use of all the multiple personalities, disguise and mind games that are offered by playing out a life on the internet.

Wow. This was very unsettling, unreliable narrators in abundance and very much let‘s you draw your own conclusions as to what “really” happened. I can see why this read has been quite divisive, I found it fascinating!

It‘s been a LLLOOONNNNGGGG time since I posted or since I‘ve had the peace to sit down and read, but I‘m back! Now that the wedding and move are over, I can finally pick back up on my book habit. Maybe I‘ll even get back to book club?????!!!

A #bookcrossing book from one of my #favouriteauthors released on bench along Ipswich waterfront after an excellent lunch at The Last Anchor.

Lauram Do you ever stick around to see who picks it up? 6y
Ardachy @Lauram Only occasionally. Sometimes people will stop and look but leave the book where it is. Others may pick it up then leave it somewhere else. Others pick a book up to read it of course. I know this from journal entries I have received. 6y
Lauram I enjoy all the photos! 6y
Ardachy @Lauram Yay! This book has been caught. See the journal entry here http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/15116688 6y

Joanne Harris rarely disappoints, this one certainly lived up to expectations. A tale of murder and intrigue told through two online web journals. Both are unreliable narrators, leaving me doubting and re-doubting everything I thought I knew, right up to the very last sentence. Audio version was a pleasure to listen to. Definitely one I'd recommend.

Went for a solo road trip to meet up with some friends and listened to this one on the way. With one line everything I thought I knew was turned on its head. Love an unreliable narrator, messes with your head and leaves you questioning every word.

Second of the two new books started today, this one on audio. Intriguing beginning, not sure where this is going to go.
