A very enjoyable and informative book about eels. I hadn't realized that the reproductive cycle of the eel was so fascinating!

An enjoyable historical novel set in 1920's London. It started slow but I liked how the various plotlines eventually wove together, and I also found the morally ambiguous characters (which, frankly, were almost all of them) interesting.
My first book finished for #HauntedShelf! #Flerken @PuddleJumper

This book is a low pick for me. It's a somewhat random collection of thoughts on silence, some insightful and others that were less interesting. Either way, it has definitely made me appreciate silence more.
This might be a stretch, but I'm using this book for prompt 30, “Meowth: Treasure“ for #gottacatchemall, since the theme of the book is that silence is to be treasured, and we all know that “Silence is golden“! @PuddleJumper
This is a biography of model and artist Kiki Man Ray, who was married to artist Man Ray for a time. While Kiki's life story was interesting, I enjoyed even more learning about the development of art in Montparnasse during the 1920's.

Oooh! Nice! I just won this book from the #LittleFreeLibrary website and from the publisher, Simon & Schuster. I plan to read this book, register it on #BookCrossing and then share it with others. It‘s a light, enjoyable read so far.
I just started this book which I received from a fellow BookCrosser. This book had me in tears by the second chapter so that means it‘s a keeper (except that I‘ll release it through #BookCrossing when it‘s completed).
I didn't love this one the way I did Beartown, the only other Backman I've read. However, I really liked how the characters' lives were all intertwined and the idea that one person's actions can have such a great effect on others.

I loved this story about two estranged Korean American sisters trying to reconcile while grappling with their own individual challenges. It's funny, moving and heartwarming, and I also love this cover design.

A compact, sad and beautiful story, set at the end of WWI, about a family's struggles with poverty and the severe disfigurement of the returning father and husband.

A tense and fast-paced historical thriller set on a 19th century whaling ship in the Arctic waters. I really liked this novel but also found some parts quite disturbing, so I'm not sure if I'm up to watching the miniseries based on the book.
