My impressions of West Virginia were borne out in this book! 😁 That said, the characters were well-drawn, the protagonist engaging, and the minor characters were compelling. If I have a quibble, it‘s that the killer was… improbable. But the feistiness of the protagonist and her relationship with the sheriff are believable and fun to read. I look forward to finding something else by this author soon.

Sunday morning snuggles

Happy Saturday! I worked a little bit this morning, did a few chores, and now I'm ready to power through the rest of this one so I can start reading spooky books! I'm enjoying this one okay but it's not quite the Halloween experience I'm looking for this month.

Well, Littens, I've decided to pop my head in during the week again in addition to on the weekends. I'm allowing myself 10 minutes each evening as I wind down for bed. I feel like I miss a lot only showing up on weekends and I miss the connections I've made here. Still, I want to allow for balance and reading time so I'm setting a limit during the week. I'll test this out for a few weeks to see how I like it.

I enjoyed the narration of this one, but the plot lagged. I like my mysteries with a bit more pace. #MountTBR

Thought this would be more about the murder than it was. Nope. Easy reading and it was kind of enjoyable.
