Fifteen thousand children under the age of fifteen passed through the Terezin Concentration Camp. Fewer than 100 survived. In these poems and pictures drawn by the young inmates, we see the daily misery of these uprooted children, as well as their hopes and fears, their courage and optimism. 60 color illustrations.

#BloomingBibliophiles Day 23: I was taken by this powerful book that featured drawings & poems of children from the Terezin Concentration Camp. A total of 5,000 drawings, collages, poetry were collected from the children, including this one about a #butterfly. For just a few hours every week, the children had the opportunity to think abt something other than where they were, as they immersed themselves in colors & words. https://wp.me/pDlzr-8b4

Just finished up this incredibly powerful book of poetry for #24in48 and @bookriot #readharder challenge. It's a collection of poems and artworks by children who lived in Terezin Concentration Camp during WWII. Most went on to die at Auschwitz. @24in48

A must read! This book contains poems and drawings by children from Terezin Concentration Camp. It was a very moving read for me, especially knowing that very few of them survived the war.
