Teachers can use this book to discuss the importance of libraries, literature, and how one person can create lasting change. Students can explore the history of their own local libraries or write about a time when reading made a difference in their lives.
This biography tells the story of Anne Carroll Moore, the woman who revolutionized children‘s libraries and made reading more accessible and enjoyable for children. Her advocacy for children‘s literature changed libraries forever.
"But Miss Moore thought otherwise!"
This would be a great book to read before the children go into the school library for the first time.
This biography would be a perfect book to read to a class to introduce nonfiction books! It is the story of Miss Moore who developed the first room for children in a library! I loved the repetition of "Miss Moore thought otherwise" because it tied in the title in with the reading.

BIOGRAPHY
A picture book biography about a woman who was instrumental in giving children access to libraries. Obviously, as a future children‘s/young adult librarian, I loved it, but I also think it was well-written and illustrated. I‘m sure it will be used in many a library storytime. :)
My fourth grade read aloud this week sharing the story of the woman who helped create children's departments in public libraries. #nationallibraryweek
I loved this book! I didn't realize that most libraries didn't have a book lending policy for children, let alone an area set aside for them. Miss Moore was a pioneer for the children's library. The children's room in the New York Public library was designed by her. How awesome is that?! #picturebooks
5⭐️!! A children's book about Annie Moore, the librarian who created libraries for children. This is now one of my favorite children's book! A perfect book for any librarian , or anyone interested in the beginnings of children's libraries !
