The stories of Milly-Molly-Mandy and her friends have charmed generations of children since their first publication in 1925. Perfect for reading aloud, these twenty-one stories will bring back happy memories for parents and grandparents and introduce younger readers to an enduringly popular heroine and her friends little-friend-Susan and Billy Blunt. Gloriously illustrated with the author's original line drawings, and with a ribbon marker and a specially commissioned foreword, this beautiful hardback Macmillan Classics edition of Joyce Lankester Brisley's More Milly-Molly-Mandy is a truly special gift to treasure.

Rereading this recent purchase - a new edition of my favourite childhood book. I think one reason why Milly Molly Mandy appealed to me so much is that everybody in her family is shown as important - here Brisley lists each family members jobs - and the whole family treats MMM as important too. Although they‘re simple little stories, I think this idea of everybody playing an equal part really appealed to me as a child.

Ruthiella Is this one for the future grandkids? 3y
Centique @Ruthiella yes! (Well if I ever get any!) Maybe I‘ll read it to some nieces and nephews before then. 😋 3y
LeahBergen And the illustrations are just so sweet. 💖 3y
Jeg First books I read when I arrived in Australia in the late 50s . Loved them. So glad they are still around. 3y

Pickpick

October 2020
Trixie and I have enjoyed these simple, quiet stories of Milly-Molly-Mandy and her friends in a small English village. Whilst stories of magic, fairies and wizards are fun, both my girls have also loved gentle stories of life in earlier times, such as those by Shirley Hughes, Dorothy Edwards and these Milly-Molly-Mandy collections.
