LeahBergen I was looking at my selection of Robertson Davies covers for this prompt, too. They are ALL weird! 😂 7y

Pickpick

Fantastic. Classic. Brilliant. For those who don't know and love Robertson Davies, this might not be the best place to start. For those who are familiar with his method: dive in.

There is something decidedly 'Old Toronto' about his style, which is both familiar and alien to an ex-pat Canadian who grew up in Vancouver. Perhaps that is why I love his writing so much. Maybe you have to be Canadian to appreciate it. #canlit

"One's family is made up of supporting players in one's personal drama. One never supposed that they started in some possibly gaudy and certainly deeply felt show of their own." If only we could step outside our own circus for a moment to understand our place as a simple sideshow. We are just bit players. #canlit

Oh Canada! It is time to celebrate the authors that call you home. Not pictured (love my libraries) but equally admired: Miriam Toews, Michael Crummey, Guy Vanderhaeghe, Wayne Johnston, Alice Munro, Kathleen Winter, Ann-Marie MacDonald. #canlit
