Charlie Bone and the Blue Boa
Charlie Bone and the Blue Boa | Jenny Nimmo
A dark secret is emerging from Bloor's Academy. A boy was once lost in the attics and never seen again. Charlie Bone is intrigued, but he has problems of his own. Uncle Paton has disappeared . . . Following the very successful MIDNIGHT FOR CHARLIE BONE and THE TIME TWISTER, THE BLUE BOA is the exciting third book in the spectacular CHILDREN OF THE RED KING series. About the series: Charlie Bone is one of the many descendents of the Red King and an inheritor of part of his magical powers. Charlie is determined to find his lost father, Lyell, who was horribly punished for his courage. Together with his friends, Charlie endeavours to overcome the evil that threatens them. Their struggles, sometimes scary and sometimes humorous, take place during five terms spent at Bloor's Academy, an ancient school where the endowed descendents of the Red King can be watched and controlled. Werewolves, hypnotists, mind-readers and witches do their best to defeat Charlie, not to mention his sinister grandmother and her three grim sisters . . .

Charlie Bone off to stick his neb in dangerous places to save other children once again. The circle of friends gets tighter and tighter as the lines between friend and foe are clearly drawn and amidst it all poor Billy is still left with no one to defend him from the Bloors and their machinations. Not just yet.

With many people in his life away, Charlie is forced to face his time at Bloor‘s with the Yewbeams. Having arrived late to class, Charlie and his friend discover more of the secrets the Bloors are hiding. This includes stumbling upon a student they thought left school but has actually become invisible. It‘s up to Charlie, his friends, and some of the children of the red king to help rescue this boy in the face of new evil at Bloor‘s.

📙Tagged above is the first I ever read of the Charlie Bone books, and then I had to read them all!📚
📘I have a small yard, and I'm growing some flowers to put outside when the weather improves 🌷
📗Simple Plan concert in Prague with my best friend... 2 years ago!🎶😲
📓Jenny Nimmo, Jules Verne, Douglas Adams and David & Leigh Eddings all completed, but there are so many I want to add to the list!

So much happened in this one! Charlie Bone gets into many a scrape, from (accidentally) unleashing an ancient sorcerer from his painting, finding an invisible boy, being trusted to look after his best friends dog (Horrible Grandma Bone is as anti animal as they come so this is no easy task for Charlie), uncovering the new girls secret, finding the blue boa mentioned in the title annnd uncovering a bit of his family tree! No dull moments!

This is my 'the traffic is unusually horrendous, I'll stop and try the new vegan burger at grill'd' dinner...

Joanne1 I like it. I got sick of traffic so moved to the country. Perhaps I could have just grabbed a burger. 8y
Reviewsbylola Solid plan! 🍔 8y
Jaimelire That's the way to do it! 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag I think there must have been an accident or a drugs bust because it usually takes 20 minutes to get home and it was pushing 40 by the time I detoured past grill'd @Reviewsbylola @Joanna1 @Jaimelire - traffic had returned to normal by the time I'd read a few chapters and eaten this burger (which was magnificent! I'm a creature of habit and almost always order the same thing, so I'm glad I tried this!) 8y

Eating my lunch outside under the careful watch of a beady eyed monster (I mean, Magpie 😖) which is now being fed bread by a maniac one picnic table away... Almost time to go back to work... didn't do more than gaze at this gorgeous cover!

Smangela These covers are gorgeous! Mine are older editions, I'll have to post a pic when I get home! 8y
