First book done for the year! Started I believe NYE or the day before and finished yesterday. I wasn‘t sure if I was going to like it but once you get past the confusion in the 1st few chapters it‘s pretty good. I‘ll give it 4/5🌟

I actually really enjoyed this book. It was a little watered down for my taste, and it read a little bit more YA fiction then adult fiction. Not that there‘s anything wrong with that, I love a good YA story, but when you advertise as Adult that‘s kind of what I‘m expecting. I did enjoy that there was a hint of a romance, but nothing that was so overpowering that it took away from the rest of the book. All in all, a really fun read.

Meet bad assed bounty hunter who loves to kick doors down when she‘s in a foul mood or she‘s after those bad guys. She‘s 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻 and she‘s hiding a secret. Meet an elder vampire who‘s very old schooled, calculating and yet super over protective. He‘s 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘂𝘀 and he‘s been trying to seduce Reagan since he met her. Together they need to hunt down some bad guys as well as demons. #paranormal #fantasy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#JulyWrapUp:
14 total books finished 🤯🥳
3 Audiobooks
1 eBook
10 Printbooks
Favourite: tagged
Most surprising: The Last Girl
Least enjoyed: A Modest Proposal (the humor was lost on me, and how much thought he put in creeped me right out)

Gonna try to finish my #TBRCleanup this month 😊 I'm also putting together another challenge for myself 😎😏

I love a good fantasy, and this is definitely just that. I loved the setting and even the complex magic system was clearly explained. My favourite thing, though? The kickass female protagonist. Will definitely be recommending this series, and looking forward to reading the next installment.

Fancied a change of pace from up other reads so I figured I'd give this one a shot...
No regrets so far! I've just devoured the first 4 chapters and Reagan Somerset is a badass 😎 I'm loving the setting of modern day New Orleans, and the different magic factions are diverse and easy to distinguish so far... Looking forwards to reading some more 😏

Just finished the second in this trilogy (Raised in Fire) which is not in the Litsy archives. I read the first a year ago, and while I liked this one fine, I think the first might have been better. Vampires, mages, demons and Reagan Somerset (the heir to the Underworld), lots of exciting adventures. Looking forward to reading the last in the series. 4/5⭐️

The tagged book is the first in series (trilogy) of the book I‘m starting now...Raised in Fire. It‘s been a year since I read the first one (and enjoyed it). Let‘s see if I can jump back in without a re-read of the original. 🤞🤞🤞

Fused in Fire wraps up the trilogy pretty neatly, with the door open for more in the future.

Raised in Fire isn't in the Litsy database, but I enjoyed this foray from NOLA to Seattle to deal with a demon problem.

Heretherebedragons Ooh, I'll have to check this out. If you like atmospheric paranormal/urban fantasy in Seattle, I highly recommend "The Greywalker" series by Kay Richardson. ? 7y
ScientistSam @Heretherebedragons thanks for the recommendation! I've read a number of the books in the series but am now several books behind, so your comment was a very timely reminder! 7y

An entertaining urban fantasy series whose protagonist reminds me a little of Kate Daniels (bounty hunter, mysterious powers coming from a mysterious father). While it's not Ilona Andrews (who is?), it was an entertaining read - enough so that I read the entire trilogy over the past 4 or 5 days.

I'm not a huge fan of the love interest (though am more so by book three). Vampires aren't really my thing. #romantsy

Chachic That's right, no one can live up to Ilona Andrews 😂 7y
robinb @ScientistSam so glad I saw this! I read the first one and enjoyed it, but forgot to keep up with it. Thanks for the reminder that there are two more waiting in the wings! 😊 7y
ScientistSam @robinb isn't that a great feeling? 😀 7y

This one caught my eye while I was in the middle of another book and wouldn't turn me loose! Read it (400+ pages) in basically a day. It's the first in a trilogy, and if you like Kate Daniels or Mercy Thompson, I think this is one for you! Reagan is a tough supernatural bounty hunter heroine. The world building is impressive, and there is some laugh-out-loud humor here as well. Great cast of characters! Look forward to #2! #romantsy #osrbc

EloisaJames Cool! Going to get it now! Thx 8y
EloisaJames Turned out I read it already and liked it! I likeDarius, and the unicorn blood thing was cool (tho shades of HarryP). 8y
