Lots of fascinating New York City history in this book, as always, although the storyline in this one is a bit grim.

I love it when series go well and characters grow because it means that when I get to read the next book it's like visiting with old friends. That's certainly the case for the Gaslight Mysteries. This is book 20 and Frank and Sarah are still going strong. The mysteries are always relevant to the time and place and are extremely plausible. I also love the Author's Notes at the end where I get to add a little more historical knowledge to my brain.
