My haul from today‘s #halfpricebooks mega sale.
Read the Summer of 2003
Can't believe I made it to the halfway point because this book is just so bloated and overwritten. 50 percent through and the majority of it is not about the central mystery.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would.
Thank you so much @annkuch13 ! I am super excited about the books - I have had two of them on my wishlist forever and the third one that I tagged sounds like it is right up my alley. The bookmark is beautiful and you should have heard me scream when I unwrapped the koozie! It's perfect and I will absolutely use it every day! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and thanks to @BookishMarginalia for organizing this! #summersantagoespostal
My #AutoBuyAuthors list was getting crowded; so I scaled it down.
First column: Jabari Asim, Toni Morrison, Sabra Waldfogel, Edwidge Danticat
Second column: Stephen L. Carter
Third column: Amy Tan, Cynthia McFadden

This was a great mystery/thriller with cool intersections of university politics and Washington politics. Carter also openly discusses race and how it intersects with these. The twists in the mystery genuinely surprised me. The plot is cleverly composed. Carter creates a great moody atmosphere the keeps you engaged for the entire novel!
Used book store haul. I love this particular store. 😄
This is turning out to be quite the page turner. At least when the cats let me actually see the pages...
