There has been a pretty strong caterpillar theme to our evening reading the past few nights, as Lane and I are like full on obsessed with raising our monarch caterpillars... we‘ve currently got 10 caterpillars and 3 more eggs about to hatch. The big one should make its chrysalis in just a few days - we‘re so excited! Anybody else raise monarchs this time of year?

I'm sure this won't be the only one I'll be pulling off my son's shelves for this challenge. 😀 #novemberbythenumbers

Pickpick

Ten Little Caterpillars by: Bill Martin is a realistic fiction book about the life cycle of ten caterpillars. It could be used in a counting unit for younger grades, as well as a unit on types of caterpillars and butterflies and their life cycles (as included in the link). https://www.teachpreschool.org/2014/07/17/ten-little-caterpillars-in-a-jar/ #UCFLAE3414sp17

CharlotteG I like the idea of using it for counting! I have never read this book before but I think it would be a wonderful use of classroom resources. 8y
