so-soI‘m pretty sure my ambivalence about this one is me and not the book but I really just can‘t get into hard boiled detective stories even in a sci fi world. I picked this up because of the SFFBC on goodreads and I think the best part of that is exposing yourself to things you‘d normally never read on your own. So even though this wasn‘t quite for me I‘m glad I read it.

The mystery in this Cyberpunk-noir is its weakest link. The world building is fantastic though, #setintheMiddleEast in a future where you can slot different personalities into the back of your head, Marid Audran must track down a brutal killer in his gritty neighborhood, the Budayeen.
Especially interesting was how Islamic culture has adapted in a world where gender reassignment is a quick, cheap procedure. First in a trilogy. #MayBookFlowers
