This may be a short audiobook, but there is so much packed in and it is gripping. Shalan did a phenomenal job narrating the novel. She brought Nell to life and I could really hear her awkward passiveness. She brought out the tension and terror felt by many. It is more of a psychological thriller than horror, and I would have liked a little more of the gory details, I still felt it was well written and narrated.

Stayed up into the wee hours to finish this novella - once started had to keep going. It is disturbing - very good read if you like psychological thrillers. (TW - child abuse)
Read this for #ReadSpooky2022 @teebe for March pick (could not find The Bird Eaters so chose this book by the same author).

Posting my #BookSpinBingo for February today. I know two days left but time to return the books I had (read 3 of the last 4, 1 DNF) and get a new pile today - so those will be on the March list. Did not get a bingo- 56 Days is on hold at the library - started with the audiobook and wasn't a fan of the narrator - so I figured I ought to wait for a hard copy 🙂

Nell has problems making friends. Nell finally starts making friends. Friends die. It is also the Summer of Sam in New York. Perfect read for an October night. 🖤🔪💉☠️
