Two weeks ago my department was faced with major layoffs due to COVID. I was lucky to keep my job with reduced hours and a lot more work. One of my new tasks is running these updates that take 5,000 years longer than they need to. I do it twice a week and I DREAD it. I‘m an effort to shift my attitude, this is now my mandated Tuesday/Thursday reading time! How can you shift your attitude about a dreaded task this week?
Libby1 Wonderful. I hope the work goes well. The Boundaries series is really helpful. I‘m slowly recovering from suspected Covid-19 and each day expect myself to accomplish more than is possible. It‘s a daily thing readjusting my expectations. I‘m having a good day with that today. I hope you will have a good day, too. 💜 5y
Morr_Books I have a few dreaded tasks too. I sometimes use a reward system. If I complete this task then I get to do something I like to do, etc 5y
Hestapleton @Libby1 so glad to hear you are on the mend and I hope your recovery continues to progress well! 💜 I love the Boundaries series. I read the main one and SAFE PEOPLE a while ago and they changed my life. I‘m really excited for this one! (edited) 5y
Hestapleton @Morr_Books yes rewards are essential! I‘ve been known to do 20 minutes of work, then read 5 pages in my book, and so on. It‘s a motivator! 5y
