This isn't the best mystery novel, but it was quick and fun. I had strangely never heard of this author before I bought this book at Atlantis Books in Rotorua, New Zealand last year. #7 (Roll 2) of #Roll100 @PuddleJumper

I really didn't see the point of this book. I mean maybe I liked the Vincent character, but there was a lot of other stuff going on. Anyone like this? I would welcome other perspectives. I think Station Eleven was so much better.

I'm going for a long weekend to NYC soon and would like to visit a bookstore. As many times as I have been to NYC, I've only been to the Strand, so I welcome some input. What are your favorite NYC bookstores?

Aims42 I‘ve never been either but I would love to visit Sweet Pickle Books (https://www.instagram.com/sweetpicklebooks?igsh=ajl0MGI3bGk3NHps) 3mo
mrp27 Books of Wonder is a great store if you like childrens books, Shakespeare &Co, Three Lives & Company we‘re some of my favorite bookstores in NYC. 3mo

slategreyskies @Leftcoastzen I was just going to add Book Culture to the list. For me, it was the 112th one as well, but it‘s been a few years since I was last there. One of the things I liked about it was their bookmarks. They were illustrated with stacks of books on them, the spines facing out, and Book Culture written on them. I‘d take a pic, but those bookmarks are likely stuck in a book somewhere, as I haven‘t seen them in a while. 3mo
Leftcoastzen @slategreyskies there is a lot to love about that store. They have more scholarly books & well curated sale books. 3mo

My 12th independent bookstore visit on the #HTXBookCrawl24 was to Candescent Books, which is a pop-up bookstore that was set-up at Native Coffee in downtown Houston. The owner not only has a good amount of popular books available, but also homemade candles. The historical fiction candle was my favorite, even though that is not my favorite book genre. This a great spot to hang with friends or just sit with a good book.
