Playing hooky from work for 30 minutes to sneak in some pages.
I am so sucked into this series - its insane! Well paced with engaging characters.
The porch swing was one of our best purchases this year. (Idk why my pics are posting sideways. I'm using web until the android app is up and the photo editor is super hard to navigate.)
Anyone who owns anything with a rechargeable battery should read this book. I am gutted. It's taken me three months to read this and I've cried almost every time I've picked it up. Major TWs for almost every horrible thing that can happen to child. And those things happened so that we could have smart phones.
I MISS YOU GUYS. Finally been able to carve out some reading time in the chaos of working two jobs and raising a rascal toddler and it feels so good. My current read is tagged and I've attached a picture of my little reader as tax. #raisingreaders
Finished my #bookspin AND my #doublespin already! Making some good progress on my bingo card too. Feels good to read again :)
Took today off since Artie is getting his four month vaccines later. He decided to sleep in so I get to actually read my book AND drink my coffee while it‘s hot! What is this?!
Haven‘t been reading much because of this spooky boy, but I‘m hoping to get back in the swing, even if it‘s slowly. I signed up for #scarathlon and I‘m going to try #bookspinbingo again in October! (Okay maybe I‘ll shoot for just the #bookspin lol). Do kiddo Halloween books? 😬
Currently enjoying the tagged on audio! Scott Brick = 😍
I stumbled across this series at the start of the month and devoured all three books! This one dragged a bit and all three books tend to follow a similar plot structure, but they‘re easy to read and I like the sci-fi premise. Ending was tidy, but I didn‘t care.
Audiobooks are the best! I‘ve watched a lot of docs about NXIVM, but this book still offered new information and perspectives, including quotes and testimony from the trial. Absolutely mine-boggling from start to finish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I READ A BOOK. Stephen King gets me out of any funk. Different than some of his other works, but really enjoyable still. His character writing is always very vivid for me. #wintergames #teamgamesleighers
Been a bit quiet on here because turns out growing baby boy is requiring SIGNIFICANTLY more energy than I thought. First trimester is almost done and I‘m hoping to be able to spend less time on Netflix and more time on my books soon.
No pic because I‘m hiding it, but I have received my #ANS swap!
DNFing this one. I‘m about halfway through and I‘m just not enjoying it enough to finish.
A great into to horror for kids who like to be scared. I love how the first section also has storytelling tips to get maximum fright! 29 stories = 435 total points plus 54 readathon minutes and 1 for participation. #scarathlon #teamhendrix
Another great #scarathlon day yesterday! I‘d like to credit all my points to reading 5 volumes of The Walking Dead. Each volume is 6 issues, so 6x5 is 30 and 30x15 is 450 PLUS readathon points! #teamhendrix
#scarathlon #spookoween #littenlisten #necromathon #bfc #bookspin #wickedathon #screamathon (and assorted insta/blog readathons)
#scarathlon day 1 points! Yay for lots of short audiobooks! Going to try to tag everyone but will probably miss things. I‘ll tally up early bird and game points at the end of the week. #teamhendrix

My first official Halloween book for #scarathlon! Super cute and laugh out loud funny. A great way to usher in fall! And now I want pie. #teamhendrix
Another #scarathlon audio done! This was just the title story of the tagged collection. If you like zombies or Salem‘s Lot, you‘ll like this one :) #teamhendrix
First #scarathlon book complete! Deeply unsettling and well produced on audio. Some of the voices blurred together so it was difficult to keep track of which character was speaking.
Here is my early #scarathlon2021 list for #teamhendrix and my list for #bookspinbingo. I even gave myself a list of alternates if I‘m not feeling something on my list! 🤣
This was REALLy good. I didn‘t know much about the full Epstein back story, but Brown explains things well and is compulsively readable. The content is sickening but I couldn‘t put this one down. Well reported.
Not my favorite Sager (nothing replaces FINAL GIRLS) but it was pretty escapist and fast-moving, which made it great for my lazy holiday weekend! A few too many twists and turns, but it was still a fun time.
Side note: I think I‘ve done more reading over the past three days than I have in three weeks!
This book was SO weird and amazing and I loved every bit of it. SGJ is fast becoming a favorite and I love that he has a full backlist to explore!
And that‘s a NOPE for me. Dekker was one of my favorites growing up, but this did not deliver. Bad world set up, clearly self-published (needs editing) and just blah. Couldn‘t get more than 25 pages in.
I LOVE LONG WEEKENDS. A great book to usher in Spooky Season. It‘s a great look at the ramifications of the Satanic Panic of the 80s though it definitely had some improbable moments. Overall, a fast read, but a #borrownotbuy for me.
Finished my #bookspin last night! Not my favorite Brennan novel - too many plots and subplots that didn‘t clearly connect or resolve. Ready for the next one! @TheAromaofBooks
Ehhh. I loved her on GBBO, but this was hit or miss for me. Some parts were really interesting, like her section on the holidays, but most essays felt like she was overreaching a bit. At the end of the day, food is food. There is only so much analyzing I can financially afford to do. 🤷🏼♀️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Also this book just made me crave curry. So be forewarned.
Getting back into my posting swing by sharing my September #bfc21 goals! I‘ve joined a gym, made myself a routine, and I‘m really trying to stick with it. I can make a discord group if there are any Littens that want a gym accountability buddy! @TheAromaofBooks tagging you because I reference my #bookspin list here - just don‘t have the list on me. I‘m spinning this month!
REALLY happy with my #awesomeaugust progress! While I didn‘t hit my goal of only 3 in progress books, 4 is pretty dang close!
Think it‘s time to DNF on this one, which is too bad, cause I really wanted to like it. I‘m about 200 pages in and I still have no idea what‘s happening or who these people are. The author jumps around from person to person, which makes it very difficult to follow events.
This book made me both laugh out loud and cry and I can‘t give higher praise than that. Very very science-y, but another winner from Weir. So glad I snuck this into my reading this month.
An unconventional #audiowalk today cause the Midwest is just too freaking hot!!
#awesomeaugust update! Currently reading is down from 11 to 8! I finished four books, but started PROJECT HAIL MARY since I just realized it‘s due back to the library next week 😂
My goal for #awesomeaugust is simple — FINISH SOME DAMN BOOKS. My currently reading stack is at a very overwhelming ELEVEN books and I want to get it down to at least three this week. I just keep starting new books and not actually finishing anything. Pls send thoughts and prayers 😂
It‘s been so crazy at Camp Kochi Kopi that I haven‘t had time to write home in days! But it‘s Friday so I‘m curling up the fire with a big old stack of books next to me, ready to read past my bedtime. #litsysummercamp @ImperfectCJ
Good morning #litsysummercamp peeps! It‘s a brisk 55F here at Camp Koochi Kopi, which is perfect for coffee outside in a mascot mug with a new audiobook! My ideal camp weather actually reflects our current weather here in IN- mid to high 70s, low humidity, lots of sun.
1. I love cabins but I‘m not opposed to tent camping in decent weather.
2. I‘m going with Juju cause that‘s our nickname for my favorite cat (don‘t tell his brother)
3. I don‘t know if this counts, but whenever I camp I always take a new horror novel! Preferably if it takes place in the woods. THE TROOP was really good.
4. Finish BAD MEDICINE, NUT JOBS, and D-DAY GIRLS. #litsysummedcamp @ImperfectCJ
Happy first day of #litsysummercamp friends! My nieces will be over in a few hours, so until they get here I‘m kicking off the day by enjoying an actually pleasant morning with my coffee and this highly-awaited book.
Temperance Brennan and I are really clicking this week! Work is stressful and horrible, but these books feel like settling in with some cozy (but still bloody and murder-y). On to the next one!
I like to call this “I don‘t know what to read next and I can‘t sleep (Sunday morning regrets)”
Took a mental health day and I‘m curling up with this book for #lmpbc and I can‘t wait to share it with you ladies! I love it more than Homegoing!
