Unfortunately, this book was a little dragged out. It was a little heavy on the history that seemed a little unnecessary. The story was interesting, but I don‘t think I would recommend this to anyone with any type of remedial science background, it‘s too big on details that most would remember from high school science. A wiki article of this story would‘ve sufficed.😕

Checking out the book selection at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. I picked up the Radioactive Boy Scout and I'm excited to check it out. ☠️💀

Interesting history of this smart kid that really needed some positive adult influences.

I heard a NPR podcast about this guy and was shocked to find out all this happened in suburban Detroit (my neck of the woods). I never heard anything about it when it was discovered that this high school kid was attempting to generate nuclear energy. Self taught and determined...he obtained radioactive materials and conducted impressive experiments. I told my husband about and of course he knew all about it (he knows everything ?) #LitsyAtoZ ✅"R"

Laura317 That's wild! And his parents knew? Where on earth did he get radioactive material? Gotta read this. 7y
