When we found out our nephew was to be named Baxter, my partner and I knew it was time to read Hell Hound! We thought we‘d give it to him when he grows up, but…we‘ll have to see. This cynical book abt a sociopathic dog and his Hitler-loving teen owner isn‘t for everyone. It is disturbing & often made me queasy, but it‘s also thoughtful and complex. I‘m impressed by what KG accomplished. It can be wry, occasionally lovely, but always really dark.
