#BookReport for this week - read the checked books, and just started A Pattern of Lies. Also read two short stories in the Bess Crawford series, and finished The Tea Dragon Festival as well as the next 87th Precinct book (Hail, Hail, The Gang's All Here), so a pretty solid reading week overall.

I'm at a little over two hours for #24B4Monday so we will see where I get today!!

While I enjoyed this book, it was my least favorite of the series so far. The pacing seemed a bit off compared to the others, and it mostly took place in England, losing some of the atmosphere that made the other books so good. Nevertheless, it's always fun to follow Bess and Simon's adventures.

For me, not as good as others so far in the series but still a solid effort. A little slow in parts and some lagging to reach the “aha” moment before the conclusion. This one was even more of a Bess and Simon adventure, as he was by her side for roughly 80% of the book. Still trying to figure out the dynamics of their relationship six books in. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔

Currently it‘s Simon Brandon from the Bess Crawford series. He‘s the perfect definition of a strong, dependable, intelligent date, and luckily he and Bess appear to be “just friends” (at least for the moment). For our date, I‘d simply let him nap as he doesn‘t appear to get much sleep from all the adventures he chauffeurs Bess around in! Poor guy!! 😔🤣😩😜😴😴😴
